Here's more than you probably want to know about me...

On this page, I'll introduce myself. I'll talk about the bands i have played with and how i have ended here, playing the fafisa organ for "THE FRANTIC FIVE"...
...i ll try to describe some cool moments i had playing the organ at several shows, talk about my music influences, favourite artists and bands, dreams and whatever else keeps strolling cross my mind...

...i am D R . O R G A N ...i was born in Thessaloniki,Greece on 28th April 1979...

i started studying music when i was 7 years old with a maestro of a phillarmonic orchestra...my first instrunment was a tube bass!i can remember a day that i was going to my music class and i had to wait outside my maestro's office because he was busy doing something...there was a piano somewhere there at a corner...having nothing else to do,i sat before the piano and started touching the keys...i began playing the music task(a march or a minuetto-cant remember exactly now) that i was supposed to play it with my bass...my maestro heard my playing on the piano and came out of his office, trying to figure out what was happenning and who was touching his precious piano...hehehe!!! well,i thought at that time that i was in trouble since he heard me and he was coming out on me but...,he actually got excited with what he had listened(at least this is what he had told me then)....he asked me if i could play what i was playing before for one more time...so,i did!he couldnt believe that a 7 years old boy, that never before in his life has ever touched a piano, was actually playing a Bach's minuetto on it!!!

...after that he called my parents and suggested to them that it would be the best for me to leave the phillarmonic orchestra and go to study a different instrunment that has to do with "keys"!!!i guess he meant anything like the piano, the organ, the mellodica, the accordeon...my mother had an accordeon since 1963 and told me that since she couldnt afford buying me a brand new piano or an organ, i should study the accordeon...(as i have discovered many years later, the majority of the greek organists of the 60's bands were actually playing the accordeon before the began to play the organ!!! (destiny or what???maybe...why not?)

and thats how everything began!!!

..after i ve finished my classical studies on the accordeon ,i started playing the organ...i ve tried some jazz styles on the organ cause i guess jazz is more relevant to classical music, comparing to other music styles...then i jumped into the blues...oh,yeah that was something!!!having this base for my soul(thats the blues,of course!) i started playing rock of the 50's,60's and 70's...

It was that time when i bought a cheap and simple synthesizer and formed my first band with my classmate Vasilis Mpampaniaris who was and still is one of the greatest guitar players i ve ever met...we were just 15 years old...the band's name was "NOTABILIA" and the rest of the members were Giorgos Tampoukos(bass),Andreas Logothetis(drums)...our style was a mixture of psychedelic and classic rock, blues and soul of the sixties era...we had many originals but we were also playing a lot of songs from different artists and bands of that period:"THE DOORS","PINK FLOYD","JIMMI HENDRIX","THE ROLLING STONES","DEEP PURPLE","THE STOOGES","SANTANA BLUES BAND","TEN YEARS AFTER" and many others...

After that i played the organ for the "RODES" as a session organist for some shows, supporting some of the most well-known rock bands in Greece("XYLINA SPATHIA","TRYPES") which i personally dont like their style but the guys from the "RODES" were friends and so i accepted their friendly invitation to participate in that project...the rest of the "RODES" were Stavros Loumpardias(bass),Dhmhtrhs Thomaidis(lead guitar(ok now?),back vocals),Andreas Logothetis(drums) and Nickolas Roumpekas(rhythm guitars,vocals)....

...all of the above had taken place at Loutraki...then i came to Thessaloniki where i met Kostas Kilonis who was working at a rock bar as a d.j...he told me that he had a band and he may needed a new organist cause there were some changes at the band's roster...so,i joined the band...this band "THE MINES" was the band were i met Kostas Kapetanakis who was playing the bass and Giorgos "the animal" Vogiatzis who was the drummer..."THE MINES" was a 60's-like band whose style was something between 60's garage&punk, blues and soul...

...Kostas Kapetanakis was actually the guitar player of "THE FRANTIC FIVE"...he introduced me to the rest members of the band(Alex Klimentopoulos who was playing the drums,Manolis Hatzidakis the bass player,Chris Kyriazis the vocalist) and since they had already heard my playing ,they decided that i should join them...and so,i did...i am the organist of "THE FRANTIC FIVE" since December 2000...

...i think that the artists that mostly influenced the style of my sound and my playing are Ray Manzarek from "THE DOORS",Alan Price from "THE ANIMALS",Gregg Rolie from "THE SANTANA BLUES BAND" and John Lord from the "DEEP PURPLE"...i admire many others but i believe that the organists mentioned above, offered me something really specialand they helped me a lot expressing my feelings through my playing on the organ...

...i like most of the famous rock bands of the sixties but since this site is dedicated mostly to the garage rock of that era,i ll tell you which garage bands i lke the most...well,there are so many of them but i ll mention here those who come to my mind this very moment...:"THE STANDELLS","THE SONICS","THE ANIMALS","THE MUSIC MACHINE","THE LOLLIPOPE SHOPE","THE KINKS","THE KINGSMEN","THE SMALL FACES","LARRY AND THE BLUE NOTES","THE INVICTAS","WE THE PEOPLE","GRAHAM BOND ORGANISATION","MOUSE AND THE TRAP","QUESTION MARK AND THE MYSTERIANS","CHOCOLATE WATCH BAND","STRAWBERRY ALARM CLOCK","13TH FLOOR ELEVATORS","THE CASTAWAYS","THE YARDBIRDS","THE BALLON FARM","THE HUMAN BEINZ","THE UNRELATED SEGMENTS","THE BLUES PROJECT","THE HARBINGER COMPLEX","MICHAEL AND THE MESSENGERS","THE STRANGELOVES","THE MAGIC MUSHROOMS","THEM","THE UNOQUES","THE WOOLIES","THE BROGUES" and many many others...i love "DUSTY SPRINGFIELD" as well, eveb though she has nothing to do with garage rock!

...well,i must admit that i dont know many things and im not familiar with the revival of the 60's garage rock in the 80's...i lke the 60's originals most, but there is something that happened recently that made me begin my personal research for the 80's garage rock and its stuff...this thing-let s say-was my meeting with "THE FUZZTONES"!!!we have played with themat the "AN" club in Athens this February...that was some experience!...i dont think i can express myself as i want(my english is not that good,as you ve probably figured that out already!) but all i wanna say is that i was so excited wit almost everything that night!the ""FUZZTONES" are great as individuals too and they made me feel so special too...(you see,deb o'nair and rudi actually invited me to play the solo part of one of their song on stage with them!)...i hope that we ll be able to met them again soon and play together...(phil!!!cheers,dude!take care...)

i think that i have written so much this time....however,there is a lot more that i wanna discuss and share with you but i guess we ll have the chance to do that in the future sometime...hey!there is a chat room as well in thi site, remember? ...see ya there!!!

KEEP ON GROOVING BABY,YEEEAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!
